Agios Nektarios Church & Monastery
Saint Nectarios of Aegina (1846–1920) is the youngest Saint of the Orthodox Church, was declared as such in 1961 and the church which was built in his honor is one of the biggest churches in the Balkans.
The church is close to Paleochora and the monastery was built in 1904.
The skull and the remains of the Saint are kept in a small church next to the monastery.
Saint Nectarios came in Aegina a century ago and he made countless miracles in his lifetime.
His memory is celebrated on November 9.
